Where do monkey spikes work — and where they don't

Spikes stop monkeys from landing and perching on surfaces. They do not prevent monkeys from jumping across gaps or climbing nets.

Why monkey spikes are completely different from bird spikes — do not substitute

Standard bird spikes use 1MM thin polycarbonate pins. A monkey can land on these, bend the pins flat, and walk across without any discomfort. ProNet® Monkey Spikes use heavy-gauge polycarbonate construction specifically designed to withstand monkey-level force.

How to install monkey spikes — complete guide

Self-install in 30–45 minutes. Tools needed: measuring tape, silicone sealant or drill + screws.

Identify monkey entry surfaces 10 mins

Walk the full perimeter and mark everywhere monkeys land — walls, railings, sills.

Running length determines pieces needed

Clean surface and remove markers 15 mins

Monkeys use scent. Scrape droppings, scrub with disinfectant, and dry fully.

✓ Wipe completely dry — silicone needs dry base

✓ Check for loose paint — can peel off

Choose adhesive or screw mounting 10 mins

Screw mounting is recommended for monkey levels of force.

Let silicone cure. Re-check all corner junctions for gaps. Monkeys will stop in 1 week.
